Dianna Frid

Frid (alexa wright's conflicted copy 2018-08-26)Dianna Frid is an artist working at the intersections of material text and textile. She makes artists’ books, drawings, and sculptures. In her work embroidery is a prominent vehicle for exploring the relationships between writing and drawing; and between transcription, composition, and ineffability. Either explicitly or in nuance, Frid engages with themes of time, process, death, and the transformation of matter. She teaches in the College of Architecture, Design and the Arts at the University of Illinois at Chicago where she is Associate Professor. Explore her work further at http://www.diannafrid.net/.
